I started this blog to replace an old blog I had setup on a server a buddy and I were paying for over the past few years. We weren’t using it enough to keep paying for it so we recently shut it down. Lets face it though, this is basically a new blog, I only wrote two or three posts over the two years I had it so transferring the data over was easy enough. Needless to say, I’m trying to write more and reflect on day to day events, hobbies, professional life, and whatever else happens to come to mind.
Too keep this simple, I’m going to list five topics and give a brief statement or guidelines on what I want to accomplish when writing about the topic. When I’m bored or don’t know what to write about, my hope is I can refer to this list and come up with something.
- Fishing
-
- I want to reflect on fishing trips or good fishing days in general.
-
- I want to start making better notes of what fly’s I’m using – what’s working, what’s not working, what the weather was like, times I was catching fish, etc.
-
- Reflect on the bad or tough days
-
- Practice Casting more

- Cooking and Recipes
-
- I find myself free-styling recipes and not writing anything down, now that I’m thinking about it, it’s the perfect thing to write about.
-
- Being able to refer back to a recipe when it turned out well would be ideal and I can share recipes with my friends and family when they ask how I cooked something.
-
- I need to find a word press plugin to make displaying recipes easy so I don’t struggle with the format and can edit the serving size easily.
- Programming and Coding
-
- I end up coming up with cool solutions or figuring out weird issues all the time at work while I’m writing code, I really need to start reflecting on solving those problems or learning something new.
-
- For example, today I found out that nswag doesn’t work with asp.net core odata and asp.net core web api versioning makes odata return 404’s. I spent hours trying to figure that today so maybe I could save someone else the headache.
- House projects
-
- Plan out house projects, then do a before, implementation, and after finished post – or combine it all into one post.
- For my last topic, I guess maybe I could track workouts or fitness progress. Not sure If I’m into it though. I’ll think about it
- Maybe I could write about learning Spanish or travels
